Welding machine is one of the technical tools used to connect metal. Welding is a metal bonding technique by melting some of the parent metal and filler metal with or without emphasis and producing a continuous connection.
There are 3 types of electric welding machines based on the current used. Here are the types: a. AC Current Welding Machine (Alternating) This type of welding machine requires alternating current or commonly called AC current. This current is the current produced by electricity generators, PLN electricity, or electricity from AC generators. Usually the electricity generated from this power source is not yet in accordance with the voltage needed by the welding device, it can be a larger or smaller voltage so that a device is needed to reduce or increase this voltage, the device is a transformer or commonly abbreviated as a transformer. b. DC Flow Welding Machine (Unidirectional) Besides alternating current, direct current or DC current can also be an electricity source for electric welding machines. This electric current comes from a machine in the form of a direct electric dynamo. Dynamos can be driven by electric motors, gasoline motors, diesel motors, or other propulsion devices. Current machines that use an electric motor as a driver initially require equipment that functions as a current rectifier. The rectifier or rectifier functions in converting alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). c. Double Welding Machine (AC - DC) The last type is a double welding machine, where the welding machine is able to weld using a direct current (DC) source or alternating current. Double welding machines have one-phase transformers and a rectifier in one machine unit.
